Abstract

The objective of the research was to compare the structure of Eucalyptus globulus in three transects of the Miraflores forest (Sapallanga, Huancayo), located between 3500 and 3700 m.a.s.l. Two structural variables were evaluated: diameter at breast height (DBH) and total height of the trees. The research, with a descriptive and correlational design with a quantitative approach, used 100 m² transects. Statistical analysis included descriptive measures, ANOVA (p-value), linear regression and correlation. The results showed variability: transect 1 presented taller and thinner trees; 3, larger diameter and lower relative height; and 2, greater homogeneity. In all transects, a positive correlation was observed between DBH and height, although with different slopes. It is concluded that factors such as altitude, competition and resources influence the structure, recommending differentiated forest growth and management models for Andean ecosystems.
