Seismic analysis of equivalent static forces of a 3-story frame

Abstract

The objective of the research was to carry out the static seismic analysis of a 3-story building on the X-X axis. The scope is descriptive, it uses the static seismic analysis method, the instrument used for the calculations is the matrix analysis. It is argued that the static seismic analysis becomes a procedure that represents the seismic requests through a group of forces acting inside the masses of each level of the building, the determination of the weight was guided by Article 26 of the standard Peruvian E.030, the basal shear, the distribution of the seismic force in height and the elastic displacements and inelastic displacements (drifts) were determined. From this, drift control was performed for the symmetrical structure. The most relevant results were the basal shear with a value of 12,629 tonf, distribution of the seismic force of each level V_1=12,629 tonf; V_2=10.171 tonf and V_3=5.256 tonf and the inelastic displacements δ_1=0.0026 m; δ_2=0.0021m and δ_3=0.0021m. In the end it is concluded that the static seismic analysis according to the E.030 standard has carried out the verification of drifts (0.0009, 0.0007, 0.0004) that comply with the distortion limit between floors established for the predominant material of reinforced concrete equal to 0.0007.
