Abstract

The purpose of this research is to carry out the structural analysis of a project idea "Central Jungle Library" in the town of the Pichanaqui district. The building where the analysis was carried out is made of reinforced concrete with 5 levels. The percentage of the basal shear that acts on the columns and shear walls of the structure was determined, from which the structural system of the structure was identified. The parameters for the development of the exercise were based on the Technical Standard E.030 Seismic Resistant Design of the National Building Regulations (RNE). The Basal shear obtained in the software ETABS for the “Y” axis 356,613 tons and the “X” axis 282,431 tons. In conclusion, for the library located in the town of the Pichanaqui district, the shear walls represent 84% of the basal shear on the "X" axis, consequently, the structural system is of structural walls and on the "Y" axis.” corresponds to 93% of the basal shear, and the structural system considered as structural walls is also feasible in the design of buildings and has better behavior against earthquakes.
