The term mixed layer or convective layer is usually associated with investigations related to the structure and growth of this layer in unstable atmospheric conditions or diurnal conditions. The present work was carried out in the city of Huancayo (urban area), in central Peru, during the months of March to July 2019, where the estimate of the thickness of the convective mixture layer (Z) is presented. obtained by launching sounding balloons carried out at 1:00 p.m. The equations of the dry adiabatic curve and the real temperature curve are compared, obtained with the maximum temperature registered by the meteorological station, between 11 and 16 local hours, and from the launch of the weather balloon respectively. It was determined that the intensity of the horizontal wind is considered as an indicator that causes the decrease in convective turbulence, which intervenes in the adequate development of the Z thickness, in addition it was shown that not always when the atmosphere assumes an unstable behavior, the layer of mixing reaches its maximum thickness. The intervention of other meteorological parameters must be considered for its adequate estimation.
